Visit to David Hockney exhibition

We went to visit the David Hockney exhibition at the Royal Academy in January. A different style to previous visits (da Vinci/Gauguin) and was pleased to hear that Milly stated it was her favourite. Interesting to see how he had slapped paint on the canvases (unashamed drips on the paintings), but that was all part of the effect. The iPad paintings were a revelation and a sign of a true artist (even one in his seventies).

We troubled the excellent Bluebird Restaurant for another Evening Standard special and made our way back via an unusual display of coffins at the Royal Festival Hall.
