Visit to Ascot 2014

Our visit to Ascot in 2014 coincided with Midsummer’s day as well as one of the hottest days of the year so far – not great in full morning suit and different to the cold of previous years. All hail to Philip again for taking us as his guests – albeit the number now reduced to two. Two well judged visits to the Ascot Grill, missing two races (and thus saving some money into the bargain). Overall, bookmakers 2, Anning 0.

Royal Ascot 2013

Many thanks to Philip for hosting us at Ascot again this year. Although the weather was coolish and windy, that didn’t deter the pomp or outfits or our enjoyment of the day. Early champagne and lunch ran over somewhat and we nearly missed HM – with her very generous access to the assembled crowd. Don’t think much of Today’s racing tips – both lost!
