Longstock Park Water Gardens

Another fine Sunday, another opportunity to visit the excellent Longstock Park Water Gardens, part of Waitrose’s Leckford Estate and, by all accounts, the ‘finest water garden in the world’. Wonder what Monet would have to say about that?

Suffice it to say, the delightful garden, open every other weekend during the Summer, did not disappoint and was in fuller bloom than the last time we visited. BTW, the garden was open on behalf of the excellent learning disability charity Mencap this weekend.

All finished off with a visit to the nursery and excellent new farm shop. Nice dwarf tree in front of the shop for sale – £5,750 for cash…

Longstock Water Gardens

We visited the Longstock Water Gardens near Stockbridge on 15 April. Opening on behalf of Key Changes in Winchester, it was a place we had passed a number of times but never managed to see inside. A number of interconnecting ponds stretch across a few acres and the place exhudes care and garden management – well worth a visit. Tea was provided care of St Peter’s Stockbridge at the Longstock Nursery, recommended if you need full size trees to plant.
